Acer’s Predator Atlas 8 is on sale in the US, sold only through Best Buy, at $1,299.99. IGN reported on October 23 that Best Buy had started taking orders that day and that orders were shipping right away. HotHardware reported the Best Buy exclusive on October 27 from an email Acer sent it; Acer told the outlet that preorders had opened the week before and sold out, and gave November 1 as the launch date. According to Android Authority, Best Buy takes online orders again from November 1, and that’s also the in-store launch day.

Updated October 29, 2026: an earlier version said US sales start on November 1. IGN’s October 23 report shows Best Buy was already taking and shipping orders; November 1 is the restock and in-store date.

One configuration at launch

Best Buy is starting with a single model, HotHardware reports: the Arc G3 Extreme chip with Arc B390 graphics, 24 GB of LPDDR5X and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The rest of the spec sheet matches what Acer showed at Computex in May. There’s an 8-inch 1920×1200 IPS touchscreen at 120 Hz with VRR and 500 nits, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a UHS-II microSD reader, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and Windows 11 Home. Android Authority lists the 80 Wh battery, TMR sticks and dual-mode triggers for this model.

The US launch is narrower than the full lineup. Acer’s own product page still says “up to 1TB” and “up to 32GB”, and the UK already has more configurations, including the base Arc G3 with a 60 Wh battery. None of the launch reports say whether the Arc G3 model or a 1 TB version will come to the US. If 512 GB is tight, the UHS-II microSD slot is there for overflow; Retro Handhelds also describes the storage as user-expandable.

The cheapest Arc G3 Extreme handheld HotHardware found

At $1,299.99, the Atlas 8 is the least expensive Arc G3 Extreme handheld HotHardware could find on sale. The two rivals on the same chip:

Handheld RAM / storage US price
Acer Predator Atlas 8 24 GB / 512 GB $1,299.99
OneXPlayer 3 24 GB / 512 GB $1,699 list ($1,549 on sale at HotHardware’s check)
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ 32 GB / 1 TB $1,799.99 at Best Buy

Against the OneXPlayer 3, that’s the same memory and storage for $400 less at list price. The Claw costs $500 more but doubles the SSD and adds 8 GB of RAM. Retro Handhelds also points out that the Atlas 8 costs the same as the ROG Xbox Ally X20, which runs AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme instead.

Elsewhere

Best Buy’s October 23 start matches the North America window in Acer’s May announcement (from October 2026). The UK got the Atlas 8 first. Retro Handhelds reported on September 17 that it was on sale at Currys for £1,299. Acer’s UK registration page, as reported by Hardware Busters, priced it from £999.99 for the Arc G3 model to £1,499.99 for Arc G3 Extreme with 32 GB. The details are in our earlier Atlas 8 and Atlas 7 rundown. Acer’s September announcement lists the smaller Predator Atlas 7 for EMEA from November and North America from Q4 2026, with no price yet.

Still unknown

None of the launch reports include review data: no frame rates, battery runtimes or fan noise figures yet. Acer hasn’t said how much stock Best Buy will get after the preorder sell-out, or when the Arc G3 model reaches the US. We’ll update the Atlas 8 spec page when it does.
